Lolita
The designer, Sogand Nobahar, drew inspiration from the idea of infinity and eternity when creating the circular shape of her design. The circle is a challenging concept for the human mind to comprehend, representing an infinite and perpetual movement. With this in mind, the Lolita earrings features free hoops that users can touch and play with, evoking a sense of eternal return. The circular shape creates a hypnotic and repetitive action, drawing the wearer into a perpetual loop. Through her design, she encourages us to embrace the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.
The Technique & production
The earrings are created using additive manufacturing. The designer uses this technology because it gives her the freedom to create innovative designs that tell a story while having a minimal impact on the environment. The material used for this piece is a combination of modern and traditional materials for jewelry design. “Lolita” is created with a mix of sintered nylon powder and silver 925. The designer also did all the post-production and coloration. Natural dyes obtained from spices and plants are primarily used for coloration, with a small portion of fabric dyes used for those that cannot be obtained through nature.
